Seattle Center Academy is a fun, educational, and affordable summer program where 7th and 8th graders explore their creative interests through hands-on experience in the arts. The program also includes both specialized and integrated opportunities for students with disabilities. For two weeks participants act, sing, dance, paint, sculpt, draw cartoons, play guitar, produce videos and radio programs, write songs and poetry, design the next fashion trends and make new friends. Classes, taught by some of the best professional artists in Seattle, culminate in a final day celebration that includes an art gallery and performance in the Bagley Wright Theatre. To learn more watch the recruiting video, see video of the summer session, read testimonials or click on a link above to see samples of student work.
The two-week summer program is open to residents of King County who were in 7th and 8th grade during the preceding academic school year. Bus transportation, lunch, snacks and materials are provided. Scholarships are available.
