Earth Portal- A Guided Tour of the Universe
GeoDome Spectacular Tour of NASA's Digital Universe Atlas
8/23/2012 11:00 AM

Earth Portal

Earth Portal is presented inside of a GeoDome Theater, a 13’ x 25’ portable, immersive, multimedia environment that provides breath-taking visualizations in a guided tour of the Universe. Complex scientific concepts and information can be visualized in unprecedented and stunningly beautiful ways, enhancing our ecological and cosmological literacy. This exhilarating and joyful experience is a revolutionary educational tool and new form of storytelling. This dynamic and engaging 30 minute show is a dynamic and engaging presentation that appeals to people of all ages, and young people especially LOVE it!

The Earth Portal is a digital window on the Universe and the Earth. This exhibit will look back briefly at the ideas and images of Earth and space that were presented at the 1962 Seattle World's Fair; present a dazzling visual display of what we have learned in the last fifty years; and ask us all to look forward to what the next fifty years might bring for life on Earth. As you exit the Earth Portal, a variety of interactive activities and docents await you. You can choose to express your Earth Portal experience be engaging in an interactive art project, by having a deeper conversation with one of our docents, or by creating a 10 syllable poem with Dekaaz. 4 iPad stations are available for further exploration and are loaded with fun, informative science-based apps, and a 70' flat screen tv displays breath-taking nature lapse photography.

Step inside the Earth Portal for a spectacular tour of NASA's Digital Universe Atlas, the most comprehensive map of the observable cosmos ever created! Embark on a mind-expanding journey illuminating the extraordinary conditions that enable life to thrive on Earth. Will this new perspective change the way you live on our planet? Expert guides lead audiences of up to 22 people through an unforgettable 30-minute show. Shows run on the hour Thursdays & Fridays 12-5pm and Saturdays and Sundays 12-6pm. Tickets available onsite or at Ticketmaster. $9 Adults, $7 Students, Youth 18 and under, Seniors 60+.
