Irish Heritage Players Present Seattle Premier of A Rose for Danny
The newly formed, Irish Heritage Players, in association with the Irish Heritage Club, are pleased to present the Seattle premier of A Rose for Danny. This production promises to be a humorous and memorable theatre experience, staged in the intimate setting at the Theatre Puget Sound's Theater4 in the Seattle Center Armory/Center House. The play opens on March 6th, and runs March 7, 8, 13, 14, 15 at 7:30 pm. The March 9 and 16 Sunday performances will be matinees - being staged at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $15 for seniors and students and $20 for general public. Sunday matinees are $15.
A Rose for Danny will be presented as part of the Irish Heritage Club's 'Irish Week' celebrations. The play, written by local Seattle playwright, Kevin Moriarty, is based upon the bizarre, true-life events that occurred to his Irish-American family in the 1950's. When last staged in 2001, 'Herald' reviewer Dale Burrows said of the play, "It was serious, down to earth, and as rich with ethnic lore as St. Patrick's day. It engaged, enclosed, surprised, and satisfied. Rose is a marvelous drama. It is worthy of the Fifth Avenue, The Rep, ACT, or Intiman theaters."
