Did You Know?

COLORS OF THE FRENCH CULTURE:  Blue, White and Red.  MOST POPULAR FOODS:  Croissant, baguette, steak fries, crêpes and some local dishes.  French gastronomy is reputed for its wine!  GREATEST SOURCE OF CULTURAL PRIDE:  French cultural pride stems from its history and the influence of French literature, philosophers, language and ideas. The French have made a mark on the world with their architecture (La Tour Eiffel),  "chic" design and of course, the French art of living.  LIVELIHOOD:  The world's 5th largest economy is strong in telecommunications (including communication satellites), aerospace and defense, ship building (naval and specialist ships), pharmaceuticals, construction and civil engineering, chemicals, automobile production and wine.

Seattle Center Festál, a series of 22 world festivals presented at Seattle Center on weekends throughout 2010, highlights the distinct cultures and common threads of ethnic communities in our region through traditional and contemporary art, music, foods, youth activities, workshops and more. This collection of cultural events is produced with the generous support of Wells Fargo, Verizon Wireless, KUOW 94.9 Public Radio and Western Washington Toyota Dealers. Additional support is provided by Seattle Center Foundation and the City of Seattle.
