Vera is your dream come true: a music center of sorts run by and for youth. This multi-faceted venue books concerts of all kinds, holds classes throughout the week, hosts the Ver(a)rt gallery, runs a community silkscreen program, and trains Seattle’s future sound engineers.

Seattle Center Academy

Seattle Center Academy is a two-week arts adventure with results that last a lifetime. For two weeks every summer, young people from all over Seattle gather at Seattle Center to study theatre, writing, fashion, music, dance, audio and video production, and visual arts with the region’s top professional artists. Students in grades 7 and 8 are invited to apply, and scholarships are available.

Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center

As the Central Area’s premier arts organization, Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center strives to strengthen community by forging connections between individuals and art. In addition to presenting stellar arts performances all year-round, the Center offers arts classes for people of all ages in subjects ranging from break-dancing to poetry, marimba to hip-hop dance, taught by some of our region’s premier artist-educators.

826 Seattle is a non-profit writing center that helps students ages 6-18 develop their creative and expository writing skills. They are dedicated to providing students with access to writing workshops, publishing projects, and one-on-one help with homework and English language learning all free of charge.
