Teen Tix is designed to welcome teens to high quality arts experiences.
Registration is free. After registering, your teen will receive
a Teen Tix pass in the mail. When presented at the box office of one of our Participating Organizations, this pass will allow them to purchase a $5 ticket or admission.
The pass comes with the following restrictions:
- Only teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 can register and use the pass.
- Teens may be asked to present some form of identification, such
as a school ID or driver’s license, in order to purchase
a ticket.
- Teen Tix is a rush ticket program. That means that teens may
only purchase tickets on the day of the show that they wish to see. Teen Tix tickets
cannot be reserved ahead of time, and ticket availability is not
guaranteed. See below for more info.
- Teen Tix tickets may be purchased with cash only. Credit cards,
debit cards and checks will not be accepted.
Your teen will also receive a weekly e-newsletter
about special events or exhibit opportunities. We will not
use this mailing list for any purpose other than to inform Teen
Tix members about shows and performances that are avaliable to them through Teen Tix. This
information will never be sold or shared with any outside organization
for any reason. As a public agency, Seattle Center is subject and must adhere to public disclosure requests.

I am the parent or guardian of a home schooler who doesn’t have school ID or a Driver’s License. What should I do to make sure that my kids will be able to purchase Teen Tix tickets?
How can I be sure that my teen will get in to see the
show? Because Teen Tix is a rush ticket program, tickets
are sold on a space available basis. That means, ticket availability
is not guaranteed. It is always possible that a show will sell out
and no Teen Tix tickets will be available. That’s why we strongly
encourage teens and parents to call the Participating Organizations box office on the day that you want to go and either purchase your tickets over the phone, or ask if they expect
to have rush tickets available for the performance that you wish to see.
Most of the time, ticket offices have a good idea of how many rush
tickets they will have available for any given performance.
Can I accompany my teen to the box office without purchasing a ticket? Sure! If you just want to help your teen through the ticket-buying
process but not actually go in to see the show, that’s just
fine. You’re more than welcome to accompany them to the box
office, even if you’re not purchasing a ticket for yourself.
Once they get past the usher who is tearing tickets, however, they’re
on their own.
Can parents get $5 tickets too?Yes! On Sundays (at our performing arts organizations) and Thursdays (at our museum organizations), Teen Tix tickets are 2 for $10, so your teen can bring you along. On all other days, parents must pay full price, or whatever the regular rush ticket price is.
So, what if I want to see the show with my teen on a day other than Sunday? Most of our Participating Organizations have regular rush tickets that are available to the general public. So, you could purchase a regular rush ticket while your teen purchases a Teen Tix ticket. Regular rush ticket prices range from $10 to 50% off, and are generally available 30 to 90 minutes before show time. Check with the Participating Organization's box offices for details on their rush ticket programs.
How can I use Teen Tix to bring a group of teenagers to
see a show? Teen Tix works best for individuals or pairs
of teenagers, but it can work for groups, too. First, make sure
that all of the teens who you want to bring are registered for Teen
Tix and have their passes. Passes can take up to two weeks to come
in the mail, so plan ahead. Next, call the Participating Organization's box office and ask them what night would be a good night to bring
a group. Usually, they have a good sense for which nights of the
week tend to sell out, and they can recommend a night when there
are likely to be plenty of rush tickets available. Lastly, get your
group together, come on down, and enjoy the show! Remember that,
as an adult, you’ll need to pay full price or whatever the
regular rush ticket price is.
How can I receive the newsletter?Parents and guardians of Teen Tix members, teachers, youth leaders, and other adults who want to receive the Teen Tix newsletter can sign up here.
How can I be sure the content will be appropriate for my
teen? As with all art forms, programming presented by our Participating Organizations may contain violence, nudity, sexual
content, profanity or other potentially offensive material. Teen
Tix’s policy on content is as follows: Participating Organizations are responsible for judging content appropriateness and providing
Teen Tix with information on any potentially offensive content.
Teen Tix will, in turn, make that information available in all of
our promotional materials. Teen Tix cannot, however, take responsibility
for the content of individual arts programs. Additionally, because
the Teen Tix pass is good for every show or exhibit in a Participating Organization's season, teenagers may still have access to
programs that Teen Tix has chosen not to promote based on content.
Parents and teens who are concerned about content should contact
the presenting organization directly to discuss those concerns before
attending a show or exhibit.
I am the parent or guardian of a home schooler who doesn’t have school ID or a Driver’s License. What should I do to make sure that my kids will be able to purchase Teen Tix tickets? Since Teen Tix passes are not barcoded or tracked, our ticket offices are empowered to ask for proof of eligibility from any person attempting to use a Teen Tix pass. Therefore, it’s important for your children to have some form of ID with them when they purchase tickets using their Teen Tix passes. Many home school agencies and resource centers can provide an identification card that is comparable to a school ID, and will serve as sufficient proof of age for the Teen Tix program. The other option is for your child to get a Washington State ID card, which is available to residents of all ages, and carries a birthdate.
