Memorial Stadium Project
The redevelopment of Memorial Stadium is a legacy project to better serve the needs of future generations of Seattle Public Schools (SPS) students and maximize its use for the community in new and different ways.
The anticipated cost of the new state-of-the-art facility is $150 million. Public funding for the new stadium includes:
• $69.3 million from the voter-approved 2022 SPS Buildings, Technology, and Academics/Athletics Capital Levy (BTA V) and other capital resources
• $40 million from the City of Seattle
• $3.95 million from the taxpayers of Washington state via the capital budget
• In August 2025, an additional $5.3 million in support was authorized by the voter-approved King County Parks Levy under an agreement with King County Parks.
One Roof Sport and Entertainment have raised more than $30 million to close the gap and ensure a state-of-the-art stadium which will last for generations.
A lead gift of $5 million from Seattle Kraken owner, Sam Holloway and Climate Pledge Arena operator, Oak View Group initiated the fundraising. Seattle-based businesses, community foundations, and local philanthropists have generously stepped in to show their support for this once-in-a-generation project.
