Welcome to Seattle Center
SEATTLE, WA— Celebrate Brazilian music, dance, and culture at BrasilFest, taking place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16 as part of Seattle Center Festál in the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall, Mural Amphitheatre, and Fisher Rooftop. This year’s festival embraces the theme “Brazil in the Games,” presented by Brazil Center and Show Brazil Productions.
At Seattle Center, the cultural heart of the city, BrasilFest brings the sounds and spirit of Brazil to the broader community through live music, dance, and capoeira. The Armory Stage and Mural Amphitheatre lineup kicks off with a performance by Tambor e Cordas, followed by Vitória Fernandes, Chorando na Chuva, Rita LiDu, Grupo Onda Verde, Paula Maya & Bossa Nova Plus, iBuildBridges, and Eduardo Mendonça & Show Brazil!
This year’s theme, “Brazil in the Games,” celebrates Brazil’s rich legacy in sports beyond soccer, from volleyball, basketball, and gymnastics to capoeira, motorsports, surfing, skateboarding, Paralympic sports, and Indigenous Games. Guests can join a Brazilian Dance Workshop with Deise Costa, and shop around with food and craft vendors offering authentic Brazilian fare and goods throughout the day.
“Since our very first festival in 1999, each year’s theme has invited our community to discover a different side of Brazil—one that goes beyond the familiar and explores the depth of our country’s cultural, historical, and artistic heritage. We believe Brazil’s story is too rich to be told through a single lens. This year, while much of the world is focused on FIFA, BrasilFest 2026 embraces the broader theme of ‘Brazil in the Games,’ celebrating the athletes, traditions, and untold stories that have shaped our nation across many sports and games,” said Eduardo Mendonça, CEO, president, and co-founder of Brazil Center and BrasilFest.
Mendonça, along with festival artists, presenters, and community partners, will be available for interviews about BrasilFest’s history, theme, and Brazil’s cultural presence in the Pacific Northwest.
